The Catherine B. Reynolds Civil War Washington Teacher Fellows is now accepting applications for The Civil War Washington Teacher Fellows. This week-long summer institute takes place in Washington July 13 -19, 2014.

Join up to 25 teachers to learn about Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass and the city of Washington during the Civil War. Experience fascinating tours of Ford’s Theatre, President Lincoln’s Cottage, the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site, the U.S Capitol and more. Come away from your week with a trove of primary source material to use in your class and new skills for place-based learning experiences. The $1000 registration fee includes a round trip ticket on American Airlines and six nights at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel. Or, the $600 registration gets you the roundtrip ticket and a shared room at the Willard.
