Please follow the news/ SC Board of Education website regularly and of course, SCCSS website.  As we get closer to Nov. 12th, the next SC BOE meeting, I encourage you to contact the entire Board and share your concerns over this issue of threatening to change the existence of the current AP US History course.

Please attend the meeting in Columbia on Nov. 12 and share your personal feelings on how the State Board of Education should NOT change the AP US History test.

The meeting will be in the Rutledge Conference Center.  SEE YOU at the Voting Booths and at the SC Board of Education Meeting.  This is critical!

    SCCSS Elections update!

Hello everyone, I wanted to share with you some information about the SCCSS elections-

     1. VOTE by the deadline!

    2. Middle School Representative- last year, the elected Middle School Representative resigned, and the Board appointed one of the candidates to that position, following the Constitution (Guidelines for the organization) an election is required to fill that position.

    3. Why no Treasurer?  Sadly, no one self appointed or entered their hat into the ring. The Executive Board will appoint one and then open the position during the next election, also following the Constitution guidelines.  If you are interested, please contact Leslie Carter lesliecarter80@me.com with resume before September 15, 2014 where the board will review resumes and nominate for the position.

As always, Please review the Constitution to be fully aware of the job requirements.

SCCSS is currently taking nominations to serve on the Executive Board.  Please take a moment and really think about people you would like to nominate or even nominate yourself.  Who knows your potential better than yourself!  Deadline for nominations is Friday, August 8th 2014.

Tracy Todd has more information if you are interested!  Or call one of your Board Members and ask about the position…or the position may just seek you!
